EAPAG (The Eastbourne Area Parents Action Group) is a locally based registered charity, formed in 1981, to provide help and support to children and adults with a learning disability and their families.

EAPAG seeks to identify gaps and shortfalls in services and fundraises to set up projects to assist people with a learning disability to gain access to equal opportunities in the community.

EAPAG works closely with the statutory agencies and other charities to assist in the planning of services and to raise the profile of people with a learning disability.

In 1993 EAPAG saw the need to provide realistic training and work experience for adults with a learning disability and secured a long-term lease from Eastbourne Borough Council on Chalk Farm Hotel. There was sufficient space behind the hotel to facilitate a plant centre, which was contructed the following year. Since then a pet centre has been added.

This is now The Downland farm Project and can provide a service for up to 40 adults.
